Early B-day Gift to !
(17 july,but I allready showed her it and I got the ok to upload it ahead X3 )
This pic is purely drawn digital in adobe photoshop
(5.5,the only version I have)
and with mouse (I rarely use tablet)
and with layers 5-6 too! X_X

Also,yeah I did say I would stop with the cakes and stuff,
and here goes the next pic for that - this dosn't feel B-day-ish at all,but hey,does it need to? : D -

So it been feeling quite strange,drawing a true pic like this,
wich I was used to for so many years - I don't count the ones drawed in paint and shaded in adobe,thats nothing compared to this!

Also Nowdays I usuly scan pics wich I only color in adobe photoshop...not drawing anything in digital for ages..

Also I don't like layers and rarely work with it,but I wanted
to give it a try,and so here is the result!
I have very few pics that I used layers,and
I do state when I do.
I just can't belive people using layers,makes such a mess for me,and dosn't make it easier either >-<'
so yes - im that lone person who loves doing her art...without the layers T_T'

I had refs for the conch shell, flying fish and
butterfly,and for doing the fin hair on her,I looked at many Ariel (Disney's Little Mermaid) pics - wanted the effect she has on her fish tail fin for it X3

And why not normal hair? Becuase I was thinking a
bit while I scrolled trough so many mermaid pics and was thinking..mermaid..theyre actuly a mix and match with
fish + human..and in the end..true it makes it beutifull,
but again it dosn't make it a own species,just a blend,right?
Don't ge me wrong - I love mermaids that way too (but I do prefer cool design like neat fishtails that has lots of colors and that the mermaid dosn't have typical human ears >_>* ) So,I went with her being truly aquatic and so,I decide go for a fin style like hairdo,as she allready have more aquatic skin anyway,so I didn't think long "human hair" would do

I also had one pic for the pose of the arm,even thought,
mine is slightly differ and I know they came off very long,but I blame it on the mermaid species of mine XD

And also,yes - she dosn't wear any cloth,
but even so,she is not showing anything,
so she is Ruto/Midna safe like X3
(characters from legend of zelda )

not much else to say,I am glad how the water turned out
and the conch shell mostly!
The other are nice,but I guess thats as far as I can go with layers X_X

I even made a new own chara in the progress:
the Summerfall mermaid
(her species name came to mind as I type)

I explained to Indil that she is a mix of Fall/Autumn mermaid,
as I know she likes fall/autumn colors but a hint of blue too.
And now I come to think that,even thought I meant mix as in the colorwise somehow,I came up with so is it! - she IS a mix between two mermaid types (wich I made up )

The Autumn/fall tmermaid
(wich was the first concept she was going to be,but never worked out/didn't become as wanted)
and the Summer mermaid (wich is new,just invented ).
I may try to draw those mermaids + her parents,I haven't named her yet,will edit here when I do come up with it.

Anyhow - as a mix,she have the blend look of both mermaid type - she got the fall colors on her fin,but theyre also extra bright and happier cos summer mermaid appears in bright colorful colors - but only the autumn/fall have the multiple autumn color on the fin.
summers have only single or dual colors on fin,females usuly have pink finhair and fins on arms and smaller on the fin itself too.She has this too,but you can't see her last fin as it's hidden by the rock..
and she got some stripes and the blue lips from the fall/autumn too.
The rest of her look more like the summer one,
even the finhairdo is kinda equal with being a bit punky for both species,only that summer has it more wavey,autumn/fall has it more leaf shaped a bit.
(also she does NOT have eyebrows - she has instead blue mark in that place )

So here she is,the teen summer/autumn mermaid mix,
playing her enchanting little conch shell flute,playing songs
thats heard by the vibrating bubbles,wich attract any creature to come closer and listen to it and calms it,
making anyone who hear the sweet tune happy and
forget all the troubles for a bit. In this case,
some butterflies and a flying fish, and even the starfish that is lazy around and sunbatching on the stone enjoys it.
She plays in her fav area,where she can relax and think in peace,or just play around with the other aquatic animals
and even with the birds or butterflies.


well,nothing else much to say,
I wanted to do a regular mermaid for Indil,
but (again..sigh) ended up drawing a character becoming my own >_>* loovely...
But Indil didn't mind it,afterall she did the same,making her own chara on the B-day pic she did for me,and I don't mind that XD

But I wonder why I usuly do it on B.day pics..hmm

FUN FACT

My mom and sis found her funny,and
didn't like her much - telling me she looked bald,
and my sis also thought she look like a 50+ aged
women with punk like finhair,and that she could be
a rock n roller O__o'
When she said that,this song
"I wish I was a punk rocker wit flowers in my hair"
song came to mind when she said that - Noo I did not listen to that ^^

I asked both Indil and another friend of mine,
and both said that never crossed theyre mind XD
-phew - 2 that agree with me then

So I guess thats all I can say...for now,
and of course - Happy Birthday Indil!!
