This is my entry for this years zora contest over at - The theme being " Zora Magic"
and is the idea suggested by my sister,

EDIT: I won o.o was Not expecting it,as I first had low numbers that rised suddenly on the end XD
My sister became second place ^^

I decide to draw a zora family,that is inside theyre little babygirl's cave like room:

Atlana,the mother, standing in the back adoring 
while her husband and the father,Zord, enchant the little one with some magical water butterflies,
wich the little child,Yarina, joyfully try to reach one who hover over her.

Yarina's "room" have some lit torches (only 1 can be seen),a big waterfall flowing down,behind it grows a interessting wall crawling plant with flowers, a seaweed like plant,alltought it's barely visible cos of the magic effect.
A little corral like wall running around Yarinas seashell bed with a red soft pillow. on the corral like wall,there is heart shaped holes,flowing water like small waterfalls (once again,can only see 1 of them here). You can also see on her cave wall theres a tiny fish with bubbles and a wave drawn on the wall. 

Theres also something that may look like an aquarium,but realy is a window that shows the deep sea outside. But instead of glas,it's made by a strong magical bubble. The window itself is covered around with dripstones,so are the ceiling too.
Outside from it,you can clearly see the sea,brimming with life,if you look close you can see
theres a sandy seabed with a stone and a pink anemone, lots of seaweeds,a orange coral and a green-pink starfish (it's clinging on the bubble window itself) is seen outside near the the window. The shadow of the sealife you see is a big fish and some 6 smaller fishes seen here and there, a octopus and a jellyfish along with some bubbles.

Also,the light lilac floor,seen next to the waterfall and close to the yellow fish painting is NOT water,it is supposed to be a cave like floor in lilac, the cave room itself is *natural-not painted XD* purple anyway *shrugs* 

Phew,That explains every detail of her room! X_x' 
now,before I go into details about the zoras,the magic itself,made by the elemental water,was a PAIN to do justice!!!
I tried to make it watery and somewhat a bit magical glittery,but trust me,I spend a lot of time trying to fix the magical effect ad it looked way worse before,not saying its wow right now...cos...it's not ;__;. I wanted to make it watery,not glowing blue like that would not match up with my take of water allready taken here on my waterfall,it would not look water like if I choosed pure blue,whil the waterfall(s),counting the small one too,is more a bit semi-realistic tone,then a all cartoony full blue (are you with me so long?) . erm so yeah - not fully proud of the magic but not entirely go haters on it either.
I jus wanted to make some cute water butterflies out of magic,so much hassle with that ;__; 

So there,that was about the magic...so on to the zoras.
First of all,I love the OOT zora artwork,both of the male zora and Ruto as a child&adult -I allways loved those pics,specialy adore how beutifull Princess Ruto looks as adult,with those frilly pretty large fins coming out from her arms and hips,they sure have a neat texture too!
And as you may know - I also allways try to stay true when drawing Ruto or any OOT like female as well male (males I done less,I must say)
to the official artwork in style,so thats what I tried her as well - BUT! there is few changes:

*The eyes are not 100% alike the Ruto artwork,I made them a bit more of a blend of anime...except the dad,but he also got more sparkle in them.
Atlana also have more of a redpurple eye color and the daughter is more purple (not quite ruto like)

* The skin tones are not exact as Ruto or the Guy zora,but that was with purpose - theyre my charas,
so they needed some color differs-aslong as I ddn't anything outlandish like green or red (I spare such color to a new differ race of zoras in that case) My last zora entry is a good example:fav.me/d5v7hya
  The mother and daughter have a slight differ in color hue but both are Cyan-ish, while Zord,the dad is more blue,but his patterns running down on top of his head and on his back,as well on his fins is more shimmering and slightly differ in textur then compared to the zora dude on the official artwork,i could not pull it off ^^' But it made him stand out!
 The mother and daughter is more close,except I gave them theyre own special pattern,not all can have like Princess Ruto XD
And that all 3 of them have small spots on theyre body.

*The names just came to me,so I guess thats what theyre names are - Atlana,Zord & Yarina. I might draw more of this guys now,
a family is cute,no? ^^

*They got webbed hands - that makes this zora family uniqe *__*

*Oh yeah and another thing that make them stand out is Atlana&Yarinas heads...and well that was a thing I sort of made as a mistake,but a good one - it made them stand out as own charas anyway - if comparing Princess ruto and them,you will notice both Atlana and her baby have flatter heads and bigger ears,
so thats a thing I think the traits fit the mother and her daughter - but to be honest,i noticed that some of my Ruto pics have that issue,so it mus be a Michy thing - but hey,lets erease it and save it for this ones uniqness while I practice on perfecting Ruto,so no one notice,eh? X3

Phew! O.o' I don't think anyone readed everything but if you did - Thats awesome!
So yeah - this is my years entry for the zora contest,not plning to win,but a good oppertunity for me to try something new + 
it was my sis suggestion 8 D  Im proud most of the waterfall and the sealife I made. I guess I like how the zoras turned out,ecept I think the fathers arm/hand pose got a bit..stale..hmm ^^' I did not use any refs for the pose,I looked at some random ones but but none came close to what I wanted so I had to do it on my own.


The picture was outlined in paint tool SAI,colored in adobe photoshop.
